The Assam government has announced two major initiatives under the Astadash Mukutar Unnoyonee Mala scheme to support women entrepreneurs and promote girls’ education.
Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan
Aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs, this scheme has an allocation of ₹3,038 crore and will be launched on April 1 from Behali LAC. It will benefit 30 lakh rural Self-Help Group (SHG) members and 2 lakh urban women, each receiving ₹10,000 in seed capital to start or expand their businesses.
Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina Scheme
With a budget of ₹391 crore, this initiative focuses on educating and empowering girls. It will benefit 4.3 lakh students, providing financial aid for those entering first-year studies and continued support for those advancing to the second year.
Both schemes, part of the Assam Budget 2025-26, aim to boost financial independence, economic growth, and gender-inclusive development in the state.
