Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently released the 19th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme at an event in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Over ₹22,000 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.41 crore female farmers across India.
During the event, PM Modi highlighted Bhagalpur’s cultural and historical significance, noting its role as a global knowledge center during the Vikramshila University era. He also announced that a central university is being established at Vikramshila, with work on the project set to begin soon.
