Kaivei Firm Private Limited, founded on April 10, 2023, in Purul Atongba village, Senapati district, Manipur, is making significant strides in the cultivation and extraction of lemongrass essential oil. The firm successfully installed a distillation unit on April 20, 2023, and planted one lakh lemongrass saplings the following month. This year, the plantation has expanded to six acres.
Empowering Farmers & Boosting the Local Economy
Kaivei Firm is dedicated to supporting small farmers by providing free saplings to those willing to embrace the Aroma Mission. With 85 lemongrass planters already benefiting, the initiative has the potential to boost employment and generate revenue in Senapati district and beyond. However, despite early success, the firm faces challenges in scaling production due to a lack of funds for essential farming infrastructure.

- March 31, 2024: Registered under Autonomous District Council, Senapati, receiving Trade License No. 3902.
- May 6, 2024: Registered with UDYAM (MN-06-0003038) and Startup Manipur (SUP20241626).
- July 4, 2024: Selected for incubation by IIT Guwahati Technology Innovation and Incubation Centre (IITGTIC) during the Northeast Innovation Catalysts Program.
- August 15, 2024: Awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati District for contributions to public service.
- August 23, 2024: Officially registered as Kaivei Firm Private Limited under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India (CIN: U01500MN2024PTC015150).
- October 21, 2024: Recognized under Startup India and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
