The Meghalaya State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB) is organizing a Market Exposure Visit to Dubai from March 16-18, 2025, as part of the state’s Vision 2028 to boost its economy and strengthen international trade.
The visit aims to promote Meghalaya’s organic and GI-tagged products, such as Khasi Mandarin, Lakadong Turmeric, Pineapple, and Ginger, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market. The initiative will help farmers gain global exposure, establish trade partnerships, and increase agricultural exports.
Expanding Meghalaya’s Agri-Exports
The state has been focusing on sustainable farming, farmer collectivization, and value-added exports. In November 2023, Meghalaya signed an MoU with Lulu Group International, which led to successful exports of its premium produce to Dubai. The Dubai visit will further strengthen trade ties, attract investments, and open new export channels.
Key Objectives of the Visit
- Strengthen trade ties with the UAE
- Expose farmers to global market trends
- Promote Meghalaya’s organic and GI-tagged products
- Encourage investments in Meghalaya’s agribusiness sector
- Expand export opportunities to boost farmer incomes
Building Meghalaya’s Global Presence
The Meghalaya government is committed to enhancing agribusiness infrastructure, improving logistics, and securing international market access. Through initiatives like the “Meghalaya Collective” brand, the state is ensuring quality, traceability, and premium market positioning for its agricultural products.
With continued efforts in organic certification and global collaborations, Meghalaya is set to become a key player in India’s agri-export sector.
